Aural media is deprecated

Hi,

  http://www.w3.org/TR/CSS21/aural.html#aural-media-group says the
"aural" media type is deprecated while Section 4.3 of the XHTML M12N
SE WD does not state this. Do these types have a different status in
XHTML and CSS?
