data-url and OBJECT tag

I am very glad to see the data-url draft.  I think the data-url is a great idea not only for small data entities but also for large ones and here is why.  With many email clients starting to support HTML contents, it is critical that the email clients do not require Internet connectivity when the user views the email.  With traditional links, images must be loaded separately by browser.  This makes viewing email in disconnected mode almost impossible, especially if the email contains applets.  The data-url along with the OBJECT tag will solve 90% of this problem.
