As per http://www.w3.org/MarkUp/Cougar/ I'd like to propose draft-daviel-metadata-link-00.txt for consideration in upcoming versions. The draft proposes a method of linking arbitrary metadata documents with either HTML or arbitrary resources using existing HTML and HTTP elements, and might be considered an intermediate step until the XML, PICS-ng, DSIG, WebDAV etc. groups have evolved a workable solution for authenticated metadata transport. The scheme addresses problems such as: Associating metadata with non-HTML resources - PDF, MPEG etc. Associating non-hyperlinked metadata with resources. Associating agent-derived metadata with HTML framesets, active HTML, etc. without bulking the resource. The scheme is described at http://vancouver-webpages.com/ml/ regards, Andrew Daviel Vancouver Webpages Administration routine: mailto:admin@vancouver-webpages.com (response days/weeks) normal: mailto:priority@vancouver-webpages.com (response hours/days)
