Re: Standards conflict?

Thanks Karandikar,

Great feedback, but I still get the feeling that there needs to be more clarity on the separation as there is overlap e.g. on the definition of form elements. Interestingly enough I have found yet another Forms standard on the W3C site, XFA (Xentsible Forms Architecture) this seems dated = is it now not a supported standard?

kind regards................Dharmesh

  These are personal opinions.

  Both could be complementary.
XUL needs to update it's event processing model to conform with XML Events.
XUL also needs to be more device agnostic.

On the other hand, it may be beneficial to keep them as seperate specs though, since XForms could be embedded in other markups as well.
XUL can focus strictly on UI aspects. Else, one will end up with overlapping specs.

Can you help me please, I am trying to work out whether xForms and XUL are conflicting standards trying to achieve the same thing, or whether in fact they are two distinct standards achievig separate goals.

    thanks.....................D
