Micah, Regarding: http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/www-forms/2002Apr/0021.html this proposal is a reasonable start but it does not address a fundamental problem with XForms - it's lack of feature-based layer/modularization (e.g. it does not define a core layer of functionality and additional layers of functionality on top). What is the WG position on such layering? Besides ease of implementation did the Task Force consider other factors that affect mobile devices (e.g. minimizing OTA transmission)? With respect to the proposal, some additional XForms features that do not seem critical for a Basic layer are: controls that assume a file system (e.g. filename, upload); Schema Constraints (section 6.2); P3P. Will this proposal be included in the next Working Draft of XForms? Regards, Art Barstow ---
