Short answer: NMTOKEN(S) are * for low level markup * not included in XForms Basic * based on XML "Name" characters ListItem(s) are * for general purpose lists * included in all levels of XForms * not based on XML "Name" characters -- in fact everything but whitespace is allowed. .micah -----Original Message----- From: AndrewWatt2001@aol.com [mailto:AndrewWatt2001@aol.com] Sent: Friday, January 11, 2002 3:24 PM To: www-forms@w3.org Subject: listItem and listItems datatypes These datatypes mentioned in Chapter 5.2 sound like xsd:NMTOKEN / xsd:NMTOKENS. If that is the case it may make things clearer, at least for those who understand a little XSD Schema (W3C XML Schema) to say that and then use the existing test as explanation. If this point has been made previously please forgive me but I haven't had time to check all posts to the list. Andrew Watt
