The XForms 1.1 spec says: a). 6.1.4 The relevant Property Description: indicates whether the model item is currently relevant. Instance data nodes with this property evaluating to false are not serialized for submission. This seems to ignore the relevant="false" attribute of submission. b) 11.2 The xforms-submit Event ... 2. If the binding attributes of submission indicate an empty nodeset or a non-element node, then submission processing is stopped after dispatching event xforms-submit-error with context information containing an error-type of no-data. Otherwise, the binding attributes of submission indicate a node of instance data. This seem to contradict the default value of the ref attribute of submission being "/".
