WOFF spec update - Section 8 removal

During the preparation of the first working draft of the WOFF specification, the WebFonts WG has added a new Section 8 "Summary of Conformance Requirements". Our assumption was that it would be useful for implementers to have all the conformance requirements sorted by categories and listed in one part of the spec. During the Last Call review period, we received several comments that point to the fact that duplicating the same requirements in two different parts of the spec (the body text and the sec. 8 "Summary") may be confusing and a source for error, if any modification of the spec would result in updates to the main body and not reflected in the Summary section. The WebFonts WG agrees with these comments, and we believe that having a separate section summarizing the conformance requirements that are expressed elsewhere in the WOFF specification is redundant and unnecessary.

However, we would like to ask all interested parties involved if our decision to remove the section 8 would, in your opinion, have an adverse effect on the WOFF specification. If you believe this is the case - please respond to this email voicing your concerns. If no responses are received within the next couple of weeks, the WebFonts WG will proceed with WOFF specification changes resulting in the removal of Section 8 (among others).
