https://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/show_bug.cgi?id=22750 Bug ID: 22750 Summary: What's the good key name for "Eisu" (英数) key of JIS keyboard for Mac? Classification: Unclassified Product: WebAppsWG Version: unspecified Hardware: PC OS: Windows NT Status: NEW Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: DOM3 Events Assignee: travil@microsoft.com Reporter: masayuki@d-toybox.com QA Contact: public-webapps-bugzilla@w3.org CC: mike@w3.org, www-dom@w3.org Both JIS keyboard layout for PC and Mac has "Eisu" (英数) key. However, they are really different keys. For PC, the key is shared with CapsLock key physically (Shift + Eisu is CapsLock, typically). And there is no common use of this key. What happens with the key press depends on IME. It seems that "Alphanumeric" modifier key is good for this. On the other hand, the function of the key for Mac's JIS keyboard is clear. It turns off (closes) IME. However, there is no key names for such function key. So, should we use "Alphanumeric" key for it too? Or need to define new key name? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
