Removal of document.charset and document.defaultCharset from Anne van Kesteren on 2011-12-19 (www-dom@w3.org from October to December 2011)

Hi,

Since Gecko did not implement either and Opera had only implemented  
document.charset we decided these could most likely still be removed from  
the platform. I have filed a bug on Opera to remove document.charset and  
one on WebKit to remove both.

We will keep document.characterSet which works in all these browsers.
