Feedback on the New W3C Logo

Dear W3C Team,

I hope this email finds you well. I wanted to share some feedback regarding the new W3C logo unveiled in October 2025.

While I appreciate the thoughtful design intentions behind the abstract coil symbol, I believe the overall visual form bears too strong a resemblance to male genitalia. This unintended association could distract from W3C’s important work on open web standards and accessibility.

In practice, this interpretation may draw unintended attention or humor in professional and community discussions.

I suggest considering a subtle adjustment to the shape or proportions of the coil element to reduce this resemblance while preserving the core symbolism that ties it to W3C’s heritage. Even a modest refinement could help ensure the logo communicates the intended qualities.

Thank you for your continued leadership in web standards.

Best regards,
Isabella
