Gapless playback and WHATWG list subscription problems

www-archive, I received a response from Anne van Kesteren suggesting I report
this problem and my proposed solutions to the WHATWG mailing list.

Upon following the instructions at <https://whatwg.org/mailing-list#specs>, I
did not receive any reply to my email to <whatwg-subscribe@whatwg.org>. When I
told Dhr. van Kesteren of this, he suggested emailing you directly.
