The EME spec does not appear to be updated yet. See http://www.w3.org/TR/encrypted-media/ What is the status of the publication of the EME heartbeat? Will it be published this week? /paulc Paul Cotton, Microsoft Canada 17 Eleanor Drive, Ottawa, Ontario K2E 6A3 Tel: (425) 705-9596 Fax: (425) 936-7329 -----Original Message----- From: Paul Cotton [mailto:Paul.Cotton@microsoft.com] Sent: Wednesday, October 02, 2013 2:11 PM To: public-html-admin@w3.org Subject: WG Decision to publish a “Encrypted Media Extensions" heartbeat Working Draft During the CfC on the publication of a “Encrypted Media Extensions" heartbeat Working Draft [1] we continued to receive objections to whether the EME work was in scope of the HTML WG. The Chairs rule that these objections are covered by the recent HTML WG charter revision [1] which re-iterates the Director's decision that work on "◦ supporting playback of protected content " is in the scope of the HTML WG. Therefore these objections have no impact on this CfC. No one provided an objection with a specific rationale on why the HTML WG should not publish this “Encrypted Media Extensions" heartbeat Working Draft. Therefore, the HTML Working Group hereby resolves to publish the “Encrypted Media Extensions" heartbeat Working Draft. The EME editors are asked to work with the W3C Team to ensure this heartbeat WD is published as soon as possible: https://dvcs.w3.org/hg/html-media/raw-file/tip/encrypted-media/encrypted-media-wd.html The Chairs note that there is one outstanding Formal Objection on the EME specification [3-4]. This Formal Objection and any request to move the EME specification off the Recommendation Track as per [5] will be dealt with by the Chairs no earlier than when the HTML WG considers moving EME to Last Call and no later than when the HTML WG considers moving EME into Candidate Recommendation status. /paulc HTML WG co-chair [1] http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-html-admin/2013Sep/0088.html [2] http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-html-admin/2013Sep/0129.html [3] http://dev.w3.org/html5/status/formal-objection-status.html [4] http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-html-admin/2013May/0138.html [5] http://dev.w3.org/html5/decision-policy/decision-policy-v3.html#note-vs-rec Paul Cotton, Microsoft Canada 17 Eleanor Drive, Ottawa, Ontario K2E 6A3 Tel: (425) 705-9596 Fax: (425) 936-7329
