Actually, the usual, and chronologically first way to affect change in the spec is to put forth arguments for your position that the editor finds compelling. The escalation process should only happen occasionally, where rational discussion of the issue has ended with irreconcilable differences. The editor hasn't gotten to the recent <hgroup> feedback yet, so we're still far, far before the escalation process will be invoked, *if it gets invoked at all*. You seem to have written off the possibility that the editor might adopt your proposal, which is a shame. Ted
