Art, [cc'd to www-archive@w3.org to enable public reference] I picked up an action [1] item from yesterdays TAG telcon to respond that the TAG does not believe that it has the capacity to solve the widget addressing problem within a 3 month timeframe as mentioned/discussed when members of the TAG met with your WG [2]. I think it would also be true to say (as I believe we aready have) that the TAG is more interested in general solution to the problems of refering into packaging structures (and maybe runtime 'objects' instantiated from such structures) as opposed to addressing a solution targetted soley on requirements for widget packaging/referencing. I don't know quite what 'balls' this leaves in what 'courts' right now - it would be good to check expectations all round. The TAG also asks that that you notify us when relevant test cases for URI based widget referencing become available. Thanks Stuart Williams (for W3C TAG) -- [1] http://www.w3.org/2001/tag/group/track/actions/196 [2] http://www.w3.org/2008/10/20-wam-minutes.html#item12 AB: where do we do follow up? www-tag? DanC: yes ... what's the time scale? MC: we want to finish this within 3 months. DanC: are there any test cases for this? MC: no ... we're starting an implementation now Hewlett-Packard Limited registered Office: Cain Road, Bracknell, Berks RG12 1HN Registered No: 690597 England [Tracker: this is TAG ACTION-196]
