Problem with the display in Amaya 9.55

Hi there,

I just installed Amaya 9.55 under Ubuntu 8.04. When I open or browse any 
web page I get a grey  screen. See attached (Screenshot-1.gif); when I 
click anywhere on the screen, I get a small window showing the contents. 
See attached (Screenshot-2.gif). Each time when I click somewhere on the 
screen I get a different window.

Can someone please help?
