I think I have identified a related problem. At a Windows XP command line, *if there is no instance of Amaya running*, if you enter: amaya filename.html the file is opened correctly. If, however, *you have an instance of Amaya running*, and you enter the same command line, Amaya cannot find the file. It truncates the file name and/or adds additional spurious characters to the end of the file name.
