Hi Stéphane, Thanks for your reply. I just solved it! Well, not really me. After some un- and re-installations, system boots, and a prayer to the Windows god Bill Gates, Amaya 8 now works fine again. After a few decenniums of Windows usage, you learn to keep trying and hope for the best (bloody WinOSs, they have a life of their own, it seems). The directory you mentioned, was not deleted after uninstalling. So, I removed it myself. (C:\Documents and settings\USER\amaya\) Thanks for mentioning the thot.rc file. (It seems to be like the ini-files, storing the settings for the app.) Also, version 8.8 has a smaller interface, better glyph (font) display and seems faster and more stable than AmayaWX.
