More CSS issues (tests attached)

Found several more apparent bugs, many of them cascading from a main
one, and some of them independent.  Most are with the HTML & CSS
handling, one has to do with the UI's behavior.  Full test case and
walk-through attached (the documentation is included in the HTML so you
can read it, apply changes, and see for yourself without having to
leave your editor if you use Amaya.  All needed files are attached, and
