Amaya does not catch every html4 error. For example the recommendation states there must be an option element in a select list [the constraint is a bad one but it is in the rec] Amaya does not flag it ... the reference is http://home.cogeco.ca/~ve3ll/jstutor4.htm#dy I suspect you are leaving html validation to other utilities, while still making sure XHTML IS well structured (dont know if full validation is in yet) ....
