Background image not coming from CSS sheet(external), but other a ttriubutes are ie. Text and bgcolor?

I am using external css sheets. and for the attriubute .tdimage everything
is being processed find the font, size, bgcolor.
The thing that is not being processed is the bgimage. It was working at
first but now it isn`t
