amaya and *.html.gz

hi amaya developers,

it would be nice if the next version of amaya could support
*.html.gz files like the netscape/mosaic/lynx unix versions ..
(Content-Encoding: x-gzip and gzip)

i prefer this mode to speed up loading of html files over
a modem line ..
