(All) Level of detail in UIA mappings.

JS: I haven't heard from him in a couple of weeks.

RS: He said he had some thing happen (in a good way).

JS: Yes, but he will get to it.
... Is it time for you to ping him again?

RS: Okay, I can do it.
   ... <drafts email message>

(Joanie) AX API mapping issues and testing.

JS: Joanie away this week; will ask again next week.

   regrets Joanmarie_Diggs

   regrets Bryan_Garaventa

Triage issues/actions/issues:
[20]https://www.w3.org/WAI/ARIA/track/products/23

     [20] https://www.w3.org/WAI/ARIA/track/products/23

JS: Looked these over and most are in a holding pattern.

   RS: Don't see Bogdan's action.
... Let's make one for house keeping.

   JS: Okay.

ISSUE-674?

   ISSUE0674?

   ISSUE-674?

<trackbot> ISSUE-674 -- Current references to Name and
description computation must refer to host languages -- raised

   <trackbot> [21]http://www.w3.org/WAI/ARIA/track/issues/674

     [21] http://www.w3.org/WAI/ARIA/track/issues/674

RS and JS: look over the core-aam for host language references
to see if issue 674 is addressed.

   [22]https://rawgit.com/w3c/aria/master/core-aam/core-aam.html#m
   apping_additional_nd

     [22] https://rawgit.com/w3c/aria/master/core-aam/core-aam.html#mapping_additional_nd

JS: the above url is specifically for naming and description

RS: I think it is addressed. Let's close the issue.
... I'll make a note in the issue, and close it.

issue-735

   ISSUE-735?

<trackbot> ISSUE-735 -- should rowgroup be mapped as a group?
   -- raised

   <trackbot> [23]http://www.w3.org/WAI/ARIA/track/issues/735

     [23] http://www.w3.org/WAI/ARIA/track/issues/735

RS: Edge makes rowgroup landmark-y? I don't think that's right.
... I think the task force has addressed this after many
   discussions.
... I think we should close.
... I'll make a comment in the issue.

   JS: Agreed.

   <richardschwerdtfeger>
   [24]https://www.w3.org/WAI/ARIA/track/products/23

     [24] https://www.w3.org/WAI/ARIA/track/products/23

JS: Now, this list of issues/actions represent stuff that we
are just waiting for to be finished.
... So, holding pattern for them.

Triage accname issues/actions:
[25]https://www.w3.org/WAI/PF/Group/track/products/26

     [25] https://www.w3.org/WAI/PF/Group/track/products/26

   <richardschwerdtfeger>
   [26]https://www.w3.org/WAI/ARIA/track/products/26

     [26] https://www.w3.org/WAI/ARIA/track/products/26

issue-542

   ISSUE-542?

<trackbot> ISSUE-542 -- Text Alt Comp section on CSS generated
content does not allow for proper CSS content fallback -- open

   <trackbot> [27]http://www.w3.org/WAI/ARIA/track/issues/542

     [27] http://www.w3.org/WAI/ARIA/track/issues/542

JS: This is a good idea, but does not work in any browser yet.
... So, if we put it in accname-aam, it will fail in terms of
   testing.

RS: This is not going to fly in the 1.1 time frame
... And, we need to coordinate with CSS group.

   JS: yes.

RS: So, let's move this to 1.2, and somehow engage the CSS
   group.
... Let me add a comment and move the issue.

issue-609

   issue-609?

<trackbot> issue-609 -- Text Alt Comp section does not
explicitly disallow empty strings as a valid label -- open

   <trackbot> [28]http://www.w3.org/WAI/ARIA/track/issues/609

     [28] http://www.w3.org/WAI/ARIA/track/issues/609

RS: Empty strings are technically valid?

   JS: I don't think so.

RS: I think this is a test tool issue.
... why is the author put in an empty text string.
   ... that's an error.
... let me comment on the issue, and let's close it.

JS: The current wording in the accname-aam has changed since
   this issue.
   ... and it's okay.
   ... yes, let's close it.

issue-626

   issue-626?

<trackbot> issue-626 -- text alt computation statements on
   recursion are unclear -- open

   <trackbot> [29]http://www.w3.org/WAI/ARIA/track/issues/626

     [29] http://www.w3.org/WAI/ARIA/track/issues/626

JS: the text is clearer now that you follow only one
   aria-labelledby:

"if computing a name ,… and the current node is not already
   part of an aria-labelledby traversal,

   JS: let's close it.

RS: I'll add a comment. Got a link?

   [30]https://rawgit.com/w3c/aria/master/accname-aam/accname-aam.
   html#step2B

     [30] https://rawgit.com/w3c/aria/master/accname-aam/accname-aam.html#step2B

issue-751

   issue-751?

   <trackbot> issue-751 -- Step 2H: tooltip attribute -- open

   <trackbot> [31]http://www.w3.org/WAI/ARIA/track/issues/751

     [31] http://www.w3.org/WAI/ARIA/track/issues/751

JS: Those are good questions that Cynthia asks. I don't know
   the answer.

RS: Unfortunately, there is no normative requirment about
   tooltips.
... They are not required to render a tooltip.

JS: But, that's not what she is asking.

RS: Okay, let me put it this way. It's not defined.

JS: I think it's the host language's problem to define the
   notion of tooltip
... So, it's not an accname problem.

   RS: Yes.

Issue-1021

   ISSUE-1021

<trackbot> ISSUE-1021 -- Label Relationship is inconsistent on
Mac and Linux - Should we expose? -- open

   <trackbot> [32]http://www.w3.org/WAI/ARIA/track/issues/1021

     [32] http://www.w3.org/WAI/ARIA/track/issues/1021

   RS: <Reads Joanie's notes in the issue>
... And, Joseph agreed with Joanie's comment.

JS: Leave this one open in order to consider it further.

issue-1044

   ISSUE-1044?

<trackbot> ISSUE-1044 -- Concatenate ARIA Description and ARIA
   error message -- open

   <trackbot> [33]http://www.w3.org/WAI/ARIA/track/issues/1044

     [33] http://www.w3.org/WAI/ARIA/track/issues/1044

RS: I opened this on behalf of James Teh
... He wanted to concatenate the aria description with the
   error message text
... But, we decided to not do this.
... This has been dealt with; closing.

ISSUE-750

   issue-750?

   <trackbot> issue-750 -- Step 2.F.iii.c Define when to append
with and without a space -- pending review

   <trackbot> [34]http://www.w3.org/WAI/ARIA/track/issues/750

     [34] http://www.w3.org/WAI/ARIA/track/issues/750

RS: I think Cynthia makes a valid point here.

JS: I remember adding an editorial note about it, but may have
   been a different step.
... I'm still trying to figure out the principle here (step 2F
   iii)

   [35]https://rawgit.com/w3c/aria/master/accname-aam/accname-aam.
   html#step2F.iii.c

     [35] https://rawgit.com/w3c/aria/master/accname-aam/accname-aam.html#step2F.iii.c

   <input type="checkbox"> Make this the <em>top</em>most
   element</label>

JS: there should be no space between "top" and "most".

   "Make this the topmost element"

JS: I see, no space would ever happne. I'll ditch the editors'
   note.
... leave the issue open, and I will take care of it.
... That's it for today — at the hour.
