While I thank you for that info (I was unaware of this), I also note that a) the contextmenu attribute (not element) is currently not part of the W3C HTML5 specification, and b) according to caniuse.com, support for contextmenu is practically non-existent today.(http://caniuse.com/#search=contextmenu)

The html5 contextmenu element allows it to be customized by the web author.
