Michael, here are my comments regarding my assigned parts in the HTML5 spec review, see http://www.w3.org/2009/08/html5-spec-review.html. (I hope it is okay to send this to the x-tech list.) http://dev.w3.org/html5/spec/infrastructure.html#urls 2.5 URLs . The "willful violation" of RFC3986 (see note at bottom of the section) in using the term "URL" is not good. It confuses users and works against a harmonization of existing standards. A replacement term for "URL" should be found. . Cf. http://www.w3.org/html/wg/tracker/issues/56 http://dev.w3.org/html5/spec/infrastructure.html#fetching-resources 2.6 Fetching resources . No problems found http://dev.w3.org/html5/spec/infrastructure.html#common-dom-interfaces 2.7.2.4 HTMLOptionsCollection . Is it possible to create and modify <optgroup> elements by JavaScript? <optgroup>s are a useful mechanism for structuring options, in particular for users with screenreaders and magnifiers. I don't see this here, but maybe i am missing something. http://dev.w3.org/html5/spec/syntax.html#character-encodings-0 9.2.2.2 Character encodings . No problems found Thanks, Gottfried ___________________________________________________ Prof. Dr. Gottfried Zimmermann (Jun.prof.)
