Yes, pressing return would enter actionable mode.

Yes, hitting the arrows once in actionable mode would change the
value of the slider. You would not need to tab again to put focus on the
slider widget. When you enter actionable mode, the focus should be on the
widget in the cell.

Subject: Re: [Style Guide] Clarifications for Grid actionable mode
Just so I'm clear, if a grid cell contained a slider, if I arrow to that
cell and hit return, that would enter actionable mode. Hitting the arrows
after this would then change the value of that slider, or would I need to
tab again to put focus on the widget within a widget?

I was reviewing the grid style guide [1] and I think we need some
clarifications in the Actionable section.
Current text: Enterpressed while focus is on an actionable item will
enter Actionable Mode. Focus will remain on the actionable item that has
focus.
Unless the grid is already in actionable mode, the focus will be on the
cell and not on the actionable item within the cell. You first need to
enter actionable mode. I propose clarifying that focus is on a cell
containing an actionable item .
Proposed text: Enterpressed while focus is on a cell containing an
actionable item will enter Actionable Mode. Focus will remain on the
actionable item that has focus.
The same issue exists for the next statement,
Optionally, Alphanumeric keys pressed while focus is on an actionable item
will enter Actionable Mode. Focus will remain on the actionable item that
has focus.
I believe this also needs to refer to focus being on a cell containing an
actionable item.
