I am not a member of WAI. I can not speak for them. WAI's mission statement is at http://www.w3.org/WAI/about-links.html. I know you are backlogged, Ian. I assume PF is too because other requests have taken a while for them to respond [1]. For example, we are currently waiting for a response to a September 23, 2008 request for PFWG WAI to review multimedia accessibility requirements of <audio> <video>. So it may take some time.
