Re: Creating a color palette

Wouldn't it make sense to spend every input field element a value helper 
which is depending on the input field's format? It is best to get a 
global view or big picture on this story.

There are many many more formats which have format specific input helpers:
- file boxes
- url boxes
- date fields
- time fields
- color fields
- ID fields
- currency fields (currency calculator)
- float fields (calculator)
- and lots more (ip addresses, zip codes, etc)

Each of them should have
a) an input value helper tool (for mouse users and novice users)
b) intrinsic hidden features (for professional use)

More than that it would be very helpful if such formatted fields also 
support intrinsic functionality, such as typing a formula into a float 
field or similar things. (Have a look into the date fields on Apple Mac 
OS X, such functionality is what keyboard centric users like and 
emotionally bind to the user interface.)

Not having to use a value helper is for keyboard users the most 
efficient way to get things done (adds additional perception and control 
tasks). From our perspective both is needed to get a rich client experience.
