It seems limiting to me. Are we creating a module to teach it? Creating accessible navigation is possible without scripting. Interesting point for discussion. Possibly we would be changing ECMAScript to JavaScript, as it is by far the most used programming language in the web. Based on other's comments, I think we can avoid that level of abstraction. Yes, you can create accessible menus without using JavaScript, but I don't see how you could implement some functionality of a dropdown menu without using JavaScript. You need at least a basic script that allows to keep track of whether a menu item is expanded or collapsed, or of whether a bunch of submenu items are visible or hidden via CSS. And dropdown menus are mentioned in module 2 topic 3, Additional functionality. It might be worth for us to keep this additional (or somehow complex) functionality out of these first modules so that we can avoid the limitation that referencing JavaScript could mean for this module. > > > --------------------------------- > Modules and topics Structure > > ---- > Please have a look at Modules and topics structure outline.
