How Do I Make Edit Boxes Hidden?

Hi, my name is Annabelle.
I am a blind young woman who is just beginning to learn about HTML coding
and building apps, and I have a question for you. I am in the process of
creating a wedding ceremony Builder app, and I want to know how to make edit
boxes hidden unless a checkbox is unchecked. Is there an easy way to do
this? If you like, I can send you a few examples of what I've done, and you
can tell me if what I'm doing is right. These examples are html coded pages,
but I want to find some way to turn them into an app. Note that I'm not
actually making webpages, but I'm trying to build an app that can be used on
a computer, like Mac or Windows, or on a portable device like IPhone or
IPad.
