Hi there, I'm just trying to link up 2 communities - The User Agent Working Group at http://www.w3.org/WAI/UA/ and The Eclipse ACTF Project at http://www.eclipse.org/actf/ What's more, I wondered if the aiBrowser http://www.eclipse.org/actf/downloads/tools/aiBrowser/index.php Might prove to be a good UAAG technology demonstrator as it is open source and free. It already has a lot of the features we have been talking about, currently: Support media ␣ Flash (swf v6-v9 (AS2)) ␣ Experimental: Windows Media (wmv, etc.), RealMedia, QuickTime • Media control functions ␣ Play / Stop / Pause ␣ Volume Down / Up ␣ Mute / Mute off ␣ Speed Up / Down ␣ Rewind / Forward • Audio description ␣ Provide audio description by using TTS engine (SAPI, ProTalker) ␣ Support simple XML format ␣ start time ␣ text with an enhancement plan of: Enable sharing of audio description scripts via networks ␣ provide HTTP-based fetch mechanism • Enable use of pre-generated audio descriptions (wav, mp3, etc.) • Enable control of TTS parameters (voice gender, speed, pitch, stress, etc.) for providing high-quality audio descriptions ␣ extend TTS control interface of ACTF ␣ provide adapters for existing TTS engines/APIs (SSML, SAPI, etc.) • Support extended audio description • Support existing/coming formats for captions and audio descriptions ␣ design common interface ␣ provide ExtensionPoint to add adapters for each format Cheers Si. ======================= Simon Harper University of Manchester (UK) Human Centred Web Lab: http://hcw.cs.manchester.ac.uk My Site: http://hcw.cs.manchester.ac.uk/people/harper/ My Diary (Web): http://hcw.cs.manchester.ac.uk/people/harper/phpicalendar/week.php My Diary (Subscribe): http://hcw.cs.manchester.ac.uk/diaries/harper/SimonHarper.ics
