Dear participants of the WAI Interest Group,
W3C is pleased to appoint Ashley Abaragu (Knowbility) as new Chair of
the Web Accessibility Initiative Interest Group (WAI IG) [1].
Ashley replaces Katie Haritos-Shea (Knowbility) as the group Chair. This
Chair announcement follows section 3.4.1 [2] of the W3C Process Document.
The Web Accessibility Initiative Interest Group (WAI IG) charter [3] is
hereby extended until 31 December 2024.
WAI IG is primarily an e-mail discussion list. It is a well-established
Interest Group with over a thousand participants. It focuses on
understanding and implementing web accessibility guidelines and
specifications, and increasing awareness of accessibility. WAI IG
discussion of general and technical issues related to web accessibility
contributes to a comprehensive accessibility approach at W3C.
W3C Team plans to propose a new charter during the extension period with
no substantive changes from the current charter.
