CAPTCHAS also still work to avoid spam, although text recognition software can solve most of them.

In my latest tech magazine’s issue they recommend to click on a CAPTCHA to copy and paste the text into the input.

All you need for this is iOS/ iPadOS 15 and a six year old iPhone…

So technically CAPTCHAS do the same like checking the time before sending a form: they work as long as there are enough even lower hanging fruits. They don’t make a website more secure.

DO NOT RELY ON THEM FOR SAFETY REASONS!

I guess most websites use them just because that’s the way to do it since ever…
