Thanks for this. It’s literally a 5-second loop that repeats with no sound, and there are multiple slides with 5 second loops – most just highlighting the message in the text box. I wonder if that could be catered using an equivalent of an alt attribute for images instead. Perhaps using an aria-label and video summary, as per: https://www.w3.org/WAI/PF/HTML/wiki/Media_Alt_Technologies#1:_Use_.40aria-label_for_the_text_description_of_player

It may not be a relief.  Looking at your example, it seems to my subjective opinion that your video snippet is meaningful, and therefore needs to be accessible with closed captions and a video description.

My way to interpret this is to browse with images turned off.  If I subjectively feel that I am missing something valuable, I must make it accessible.

If the video loops are essentially decorative/visual "fluff"/mood, it's on par with decorative images. The latter don't necessarily need a text alternative, and decorative videos (that don't actually convey
content/information) don't need a media alternative/audio description
(1.2.1)

As with decorative images, there is obviously an argument that if the videos do convey a certain mood/feel, that should also come through somehow (in the copywriting/tone of the content etc), but that's more subjective to decide on.
