SC 2.4.4 allows for link purpose to be communicated by descriptive content from table cell text or associated table headers although users will still benefit from an accessible name that provides more context. If the table headers cells are marked up correctly and are descriptive they can be counted in the calculation. From https://www.w3.org/TR/UNDERSTANDING-WCAG20/navigation-mechanisms-refs.html This can be achieved by putting the description of the link in the same sentence, paragraph, list item, or table cell as the link, or in the table header cell for a link in a data table, because these are directly associated with the link itself. Alternatively, authors may choose to use an ARIA technique to associate additional text on the page with the link. Do not click links or open attachments unless you recognize the sender and know the content is safe. I'm reviewing the design of a table that displays multiple users. One of the columns contains a link to a page that displays a request the user had submitted. This link is repeated for each search result. It takes the user to the same page but the information changes depending on the user selected. Does this violate 2.4.4 Link Purpose (In Context) Level A because it is a redundant link? Example: Id Name Options Status Submitted View Request Abc123 Jon Doe Apples Pending 02/19/2020 Request Bfg456 Jane Doe Oranges Pending 02/22/2020 Request Wxf789 Will Smith Cherries Pending 03/01/2020 Request Angela Savage Accessibility Auditor Office of Information Technology Services
