Thank you Herin! This was a big help. -Angela From: HENTRY, Herin <HentryH@rba.gov.au> Sent: Wednesday, August 14, 2019 3:09 AM To: Davis, Angela (ITS) <Angela.Davis@its.ny.gov>; w3c-wai-ig@w3.org Subject: RE: Directions in form headings [SEC=UNCLASSIFIED] ATTENTION: This email came from an external source. Do not open attachments or click on links from unknown senders or unexpected emails. Hi Angela, Questions like 'I want to buy a' in the example are not complete questions. They needs 2 HTML elements - Heading, Legend to make it complete. In this situation, my recommendation is to rephrase the question as 'Select a camera you would like to buy'. Reasons for this is 1. People using magnification to 300 to 400% will get only one part of the question and they will need to understand the completeness through the options or associated heading. 2. People using screen readers have Hot key 'F' to jump through form elements. If the question is complete, it's easier to understand. Even though WCAG 2.4.6 Headings and Labels<https://www.w3.org/TR/UNDERSTANDING-WCAG20/navigation-mechanisms-descriptive.html> mentions 2 techniques, I think changing the label more descriptive is the best fit for this scenario. Hope this helps! According to https://www.w3.org/WAI/WCAG21/Techniques/general/G141.html it's best to keep them generic but the example they show has multiple sections.
