The UK folk, developing BS8878, identified personnas. Fine iif these need to be 'refined'. But my, blind and deaf, view is: We don't have a very clear way forward. I mean no harm, But a more coordinated approach, from the UK or elsewhere, might be nice! I actually see this going on via WAI/Education and Outreach. But our 'Interest Group' discussions seem to counteract that work. My key theme, though, is: * Do we have a solid case and facilities to make it happen in the first place? If not, we should continue pushing! Extra best, Howard (Leicester, UK). -----Original Message----- From: Patrick H. Assuming the "you all" also included me... Leaving aside the spying/NSA thing (which derailed the original point), the issue of gender is a valid one, and one that deserves care and sensitivity (just the same way that I note there's no question about ethnic background, religion, etc?). In relation to personas, see for instances https://medium.com/@indiyoung/describing-personas-af992e3fc527#.ydxwxw1j7 Anyway, I'll leave it at that. The survey's been at least modified away from a binary male/female, which some people may find inappropriate/restrictive, which is at least a start, thanks. P -- Patrick H.
