Dear all, A few weeks ago I asked if anyone would be interested in assisting Fix the Web in making a new video to explain Digital Accessibility and provide some introductory tips. The video is now complete and I am asking you if you can help us share it on Global Accessibility Awareness Day You can watch a short promotional version<https://youtu.be/XLXo8KGizgs> of the animated film. Please share the YouTube link if you like, but ideally, sign up to our 'Thunderclap' campaign<https://www.thunderclap.it/projects/26715-make-technology-work-for-all?locale=en> - which will schedule a tweet, Facebook or Tumblr post to the full version of the film on GAAD itself. Even if you don't have social media accounts, Thunderclap will make it easy for your contacts who do to share our video on Thursday May 21st, so pass on via email if you can. If you do have a Twitter/Facebook/Tumblr account, please follow the Thunderclap link above and follow the instructions! To explain: Thunderclap helps us because it allows us to get people ready to share the film on Thursday, without us having to launch the film early. Thunderclap enables people to create scheduled automated tweets, Facebook or Tumblr posts that will be sent out en masse on Global Accessibility Awareness Day. That means we can ensure no one forgets on the day, help build up a head of steam as Thunderclap encourages people to tell their contacts they are taking part on the day, and potentially help to get #a11y or #gaad trending. I'm afraid it seems Thunderclap isn't a very accessible site itself - perhaps if our campaign goes well it will help us to put pressure on them in the near future. Please sign up to send posts from any/all of the three social media platforms if you can. For twitter you will be presented with a draft text you can edit (I've attached some alternative ideas) - for Facebook and Tumblr you can choose whether or not you want to write a post to accompany the film link which will be shared on May 21st. After you've signed up, you'll be asked if you want to share a post/tweet IMMEDIATELY to indicate you have joined the campaign and encourage others to do so - PLEASE do this separate part too! That's how we help make it go viral [??] . Here's a Fix the Web tweet you could retweet<https://twitter.com/FixtheWeb/status/600719754089918464>. I hope that makes sense - do reply directly to me if not, Thanks in advance, James Beecher Citizens Online M: 07734 058789 E: james.beecher@citizensonline.org.uk W: www.citizensonline.org.uk<http://www.citizensonline.org.uk/> Citizens Online is a registered charity no. 1087794 and in Scotland no.
