Have you noticed that JAWS 14 has apparently broken role=dialog support? I noticed this on the date picker demo you mentioned at http://wet-boew.github.com/wet-boew/demos/datepicker/datepicker-eng.html It worked in JAWS 12 and 13 in IE, but no longer in 14. I've been having the same trouble with my own date picker at http://whatsock.com/modules/aria_calendar_module/demo.htm So this no longer matches NVDA behavior in FF as expected, and breaks keyboard accessibility for screen reader users even though it's keyboard accessible. ----- Original Message ----- From: Arch, Andrew To: Roger Hudson Cc: 'W3C WAI ig' Sent: Sunday, January 06, 2013 4:47 PM Subject: RE: accessible date input [SEC=UNCLASSIFIED] UNCLASSIFIED Hi Roger, Take a look at the CA Govt resources at: · http://wet-boew.github.com/wet-boew/index-eng.html · http://wet-boew.github.com/wet-boew/demos/index-eng.html And also see the Paciello Group work for the EU Aegis project: · http://hanshillen.github.com/jqtest/#goto_datepicker Cheers, Andrew UNCLASSIFIED From: Roger Hudson [mailto:rhudson@usability.com.au] Sent: Sunday, 30 December 2012 9:48 AM To: 'W3C WAI ig' Subject: accessible date input Hi I am looking for an accessible way to input dates that allow the user to either enter the date via the keyboard in a text field or enter the date from an accessible datepicker calendar. This is to be used with a site using HTML 4.01 Strict (i.e. not HTML 5). Anyone got any suggestions.
