Accessibility Experts Ltd. has been working hard to design and create courses to help each of you to implement the Integrated Accessibility Standards (IAS) which was legislated in July 2011. The Integrated Accessibility Standards is comprised of three (3) standards; Employment Standard, Information and Communications Standard and Transportation Standard. There are various dates you must comply within the three (3) Standards. Much the same as the Accessible Customer Service Standard, we have created the following workshops; . Management Overview, . Train the Trainer, . Implementing Session so that you can create your policies and procedures, and . 90 minute staff training that can be used for all staff to be in compliance with the Integrated Accessibility Standards. We have also created a specific workshops for Employment Standard and the Information and Communications Standard. . Implementing the Employment Standard for Human Resources (HR) staff . Implement the Information and Communications Standard for IT & Marketing Staff . Accessible Formats for all staff who create documents For more information select Integrated Accessibility Standard Workshops <http://www.accessibilityexperts.ca/services.php> or visit our Services page on our website <http://www.accessibilityexperts.ca/services.php> . Municipalities - Meeting January Deliverables - Taxi Cabs One of your deliverables under the Integrated Accessibility Standards, is to ensure that owners and operators of taxicabs place vehicle registration information on the rear bumper of the taxicabs by January 1st, 2012. . Accessibility Experts Ltd. has developed a rear bumper sticker that is a peel off sticker that can be adhered to the bumper. It is extremely durable, laminated cast vinyl. If you wish to have it in a reflective material, we can accommodate. We have sourced out another printing company that it is able to produce the bumper sticker at a much lower price. The cost for the sticker is $25.00, plus HST and shipping and handling. If you would like to have the bumper stickers in the reflective vinyl, there is no extra cost. We can run multiple registrations, identification information and include taxi cab name. If you are interested please contact judy@accessibilityexperts.ca Letters from Directorate If any of you have written letters to the Accessibility Directorate about the Integrated Accessibility Standards and received a reply we would love to hear from you. These letters give clarification on Standards and help us in providing effective and accurate training. Impact on Accessible Customer Service Training We recently received an email from one of our clients who participated in one of Accessible Customer Service Workshops. The email is an indication of how we are taking steps towards making Ontario accessible and the goal of the AODA (Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act) is truly assisting people with disabilities. The more we educate, the closer we get to making Ontario accessible. Thank you to Leah Dunbar for sharing her story.
