Hi,
I'm making a survey accessible. Some of the areas on the form consist of a single question, followed by a group of radio buttons or check boxes. In my testing, I'm able to fill out the form almost exclusively by staying in Browse Mode, so it doesn't seem as though I have to do a lot to make it accessible. But I wanted to enhance it so that the question is read by the screen reader when someone decides to jump by form control, rather than read through the document. My question is this. Is it acceptable to put a label tag around the question and hook it up to the first check box or radio button in a group? This would make one button more verbal than the rest, and the user would know by context, if they continue to browse the form by jumping to form controls that a new set of responses begins when a question is verbalized as they jump onto a form control.
