Hi all, My 2 cents FWIW I think this is an important issue as CMSs are increasing in use and ubiquity. However, there is no 'silver bullet' when it comes to CMS A11y, and there is no 'one size fits all' system that will be usable by everyone. What does exist however, are systems that can be made to fit to various user requirements (either out of the box - or with some degree of effort/customisation). There are many CMS's in the wild but there are also millions of different user requirements and expectations and finding the perfect fit is not easy. In a11y terms there are a couple that have always stood out for me, and they are Joomla and Drupal. Joomla is a simpler CMS in many ways, and Drupal is more complex IMO but Drupal certainly wins in terms of back end a11y (as I have friends who are blind who use it with ease but they are also techies) but Joomla isn't bad either - however there is room for improvement. In terms of the research that I did in 2006 on accessible CMS's I always meant to revisit it and do an update - this is something that I hope to get around at to at some stage. I am sure there are new 'entrants' into the Arena so it would be great to get a fresh perspective on where the state of the art is at.
