10 grand for an accessible design...

Hi folks,

in what strikes me as an interesting approach, the Instituto Nacional de
Consumo in Spain is running a competition [1] for a re-design of their
site. The first prize is 9,000 Euros (on current exchange that's somewhat
more than USD 10,000), and the second prize 3,000. The winners agree to
hand over their work to be used in the redesign with no further payment (a
home page and an interior page with the components - more or less a home
page and a template...), the rest get their work back.

The criteria are pretty straightforward - you have to maintain the
official shield and colours, it must work in IE 5 and Netscape 4.5 (and
up), and it has to meet WCAG. (Their explanation is a bit tortuous, since
they have to explain themselves in Spanish, but that's what it boils down
to). They don't say to what level.

Sorry, but if you're not a European resident it seems you are not eligible.
