Hi, I have written an article about line length: Max-width and flexible design with short line, http://www.smackthemouse.com/20031007 Best regards, Jesper Tverskov -----Oprindelig meddelelse----- Fra: w3c-wai-ig-request@w3.org [mailto:w3c-wai-ig-request@w3.org] På vegne af Kieran_M_O'Brien@national.com.au Sendt: 9. november 2003 23:11 Til: w3c-wai-ig@w3.org Emne: line length Hi, Does anyone know of or can tell me some standards for line-lengths ?? I'm assuming that some people will prefer longer lines than others. I also think it probably depends on the audience too and the purpose of the page. Shorter lines would enhance scanning whereas longer lines would do the opposite. The reason I ask is that we have been asked to increase the content section of our template from 450px to be 500+px. Is 500px getting too wide for lines of text ?? Unfortunately we don't have a liquid design, so we have to put up with the fixed widths. Hope someone can help. Thanks in advance. Kieran.
