if, as I do, someone works in a large organisation (such as local government), it is nigh on impossible to get 'small' things such as email disclaimers changed. It's not worth the time and effort to even try. Even though your suggestion is possibly a good one it makes no difference suggesting it because those of us for whom it is relevant can't do anything to change it.

This thread is getting away from the purpose of this list and is closed as far as I'm concerned. If anyone wants to take it up off-list then please do so. All I was trying to say was that Nick's comments were out of order and have put someone off subscribing  to the list which IMO is detrimental to the wider goal of a fully accessible Internet.
