thats just bad coding :-)
If u use "relative font-sizes" in CSS, like:
<style>
select { font-size: xx-small; }
</style>
is should work
I use IE 5.5 SP2

Subject: drop down lists and resizeable text
Hi Folks,
I have noticed that the text in drop down lists does not re-size when I
alter the setting on my browser (IE 5.something,in my case). Does this
happen all the time with drop downs or is it just bad coding?
cheers
Anthony
