Dear members of the Accessibility Guidelines Working Group, I'm relaying the announcement to the group's primary public mailing list to notify the group of its charter extension. Best regards, Xueyuan Jia, Manager, Member Communications -------- Forwarded Message -------- Subject: Accessibility Guidelines Working Group charter extended until 2026-04-30 Date: Wed, 17 Sep 2025 15:41:50 +0800 From: Xueyuan Jia <xueyuan@w3.org> To: w3c-ac-members@w3.org Dear Advisory Committee Representative, [This announcement will be forwarded to W3C group chairs] The Accessibility Guidelines Working Group charter [1] is hereby extended until 2026-04-30. The goal of this extension is to allow the group to discuss the new charter at TPAC and to provide sufficient time for a final draft publication of WCAG 3 before the charter renewal. A draft charter [2] is currently under development, and comments on the draft charter can be raised on GitHub [3]. The mission of the Accessibility Guidelines Working Group is to develop specifications to support making implementations of web technologies accessible for people with disabilities, and to develop and maintain implementation support materials. More information about the group can be found on its summary page [4], including information about group Chairs, Staff Contact and instructions for joining the group. If you have any questions or need further information, please contact Kevin White <kevin@w3.org>, Staff Contact for the Accessibility Guidelines Working Group. This extension follows section 4.6 of the W3C Process Document: https://www.w3.org/policies/process/20250818/#charter-extension Thank you, For Philippe le Hegaret, VP, Technical Strategy, Kevin White, Accessibility Guidelines Working Group Staff Contact; Xueyuan Jia, Manager, Member Communications [1] https://www.w3.org/groups/wg/ag/charters/active/ [2] https://github.com/w3c/strategy/issues/508 [3] https://github.com/w3c/charter-drafts/issues/new?title=%5Bwg/ag%5D%20&assignee=iadawn [4] https://www.w3.org/groups/wg/ag/
