RE: Revised Pointer Target Spacing

Wilco –

We do have an exception for:
Inline: The target is in a sentence or block of text;

For the other links that fail, it is important to fix these links so even if the W3C fails it is an opportunity to improve the site to be more inclusive.

Subject: Re: Revised Pointer Target Spacing

Hey folks,
I wrote a little script to try this out. WCAG 2.2 itself seems to have dozens of links that don't meet that minimal requirement. At the very least, someone's going to have to redesign the W3C template. I'm not so sure stepping away from the "space between" idea is right here.

The mobile accessibility taskforce is recommending the following changes to target spacing SC.
Target Size (AA)
The size of the target for pointer inputs is at least 26 by 26 CSS pixels except when:
•       Inline: The target is in a sentence or block of text;
•       User Agent Control: The size of the target is determined by the user agent and is not modified by the author;
• Essential: A particular presentation of the target is essential to the information being conveyed.
