RE: Focus Visible updates

Hi David,

Good catch, I think the issue is that the image shouldn’t have a grey background. I’m not sure what I edited that in, but if you look the inside of the “b” and “o” are white!

I’ve updated it to have a white background.

Cheers,

I have a question about a paragraph, which might have a typo or slight error but I'm not sure. It's under the image with two checkboxes, one unfocused and one focused, under the heading "Relation to non-text color contrast"
The image has an off grey background and a white interior of the checkbox. But the text says the background is white. Should it not say "light grey background"
[cid:image001.png@01D66B50.11437E80]
The contrast of the default checkbox passes 1.4.11 because the dark border and ****white**** background have a contrast ratio greater than 3:1. The 2px dark blue focus outline passes Focus Appearance (Minimum) because the change of contrast is greater than 3:1 with the ***white*** background. The component as a whole maintains contrast with the white background so continues to pass 1.4.11.

Cheers,
David MacDonald

AG Working Group members,

As we have received only positive feedback leading up to this CfC and no responses indicating that group members could not live with this decision, this CfC is agreed on as a consensus opinion of the working group.

Call For Consensus — ends 3rd August at midday Boston time.

The Working Group has discussed several changes to “focus visible (enhanced)”, including renaming the SC, adding a AAA variant, and dealing with various issues. There is nothing new here, it is a roll-up of the changes we’ve discussed over the last couple of months.

The specific changes are detailed in this pull request:

If you have concerns about this proposed consensus position that have not been discussed already and feel that those concerns result in you “not being able to live with” this decision, please let the group know before the CfC deadline.
