The current text: "User Interface Components: Visual information required to identify user interface components and states, except for inactive components or where the appearance of the component is determined by the user agent and not modified by the author;" The words "in all their" as a replacement to "and" does little. The plural, "states" obviously means all states. Obviously the current SC is talking about states of UIC, so, again, the word "their" does not add value. Generally, users of WCAG get overwhelmed easily so suggesting a change to an SC that was written just a little over a year ago is not a good idea. There is no glaring editorial hole that needs a fix via an errata and unless one believes this is adding significant substance there is no need for an amended SC in 2.2. At best: address it in the Understanding doc. Thanks, -- Sailesh Panchang Principal Accessibility Consultant Deque Systems Inc 381 Elden Street, Suite 2000, Herndon, VA 20170 Mobile: 571-344-1765
